Happy Monday!
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. If you are like me you could use one more day! We will be busy this week starting rotations and math centres. Our rotation schedule is:

Monday: Gym, Choir (Gym strip and good shoes are required)
Tuesday: Dance (comfortable clothes, hair up for girls)
Wednesday: Visual Art, Library
Thursday: Gym, Drama (Gym strip and good shoes are required)
Friday: Little Buddies, Music

We will start a brief overview of Canada this week- mapping, learning provinces and territories- our overarching theme being how Canada came to be the way we know it today so next term we can focus on the countries we came from. As a support to this theme we will be starting a whole class read aloud novel study on Tuesday.

Math and Math Centres start Tuesday also- students will be tested (similarly to last year) on their mental math for adding, subtraction, multiplication and division. They will take a mental math quiz on Tuesday and can test to move on Friday. This week we will focus on addition and mental math strategies. Please use online games or flashcards to review the questions that are difficult.

Today we read "The Cookie Thief" and participated in a team building cooking baking activity- a great start to our week!
