Happy Monday,
I can't believe we are at the end of October already!
We have a very busy week this week. Today we started looking at Plate Tectonics- we will continue looking at the layers of the earth, plates, volcanoes, mountains and earthquakes for the next few weeks. We will be discussing this and rocks at the Museum on Wednesday. We will also complete a new reading assessment developed by the district tomorrow.
A few notes about Field Trips Wednesday and Thursday. If you have not handed in your permission slips please do so ASAP.
Wednesday- we are walking downtown and will spend half a day at the museum and the other half at the art gallery before bussing home. The focus of the museum will be on found art with a link to our upcoming term 3 theme. Our focus at the museum will be science.
** Please make sure you are dressed appropriately to walk downtown.
**Please make sure you have a backpack with water, snack and lunch.
Thursday We will be bussing to Pete Murray's pumpkin patch. It was quite rainy last year and many students came dressed in light clothes and running shoes. We will be walking and taking a hay ride. Please dress in warm layers. If it looks rainy be over-prepared with rain clothes, extra socks, mittens, hats and rain boots if possible. Bring plenty to eat as we are frequently hungry on outside field trips!
In math this week we will finish looking at order of operations and start looking at long division. I will post long division games and video tutorials when we get there!
Have a wonderful week,
Ms. Alpaugh
